About Us
Binfield Pre-School has been providing children aged 2 to 5 years with the opportunity to learn and develop through free play and structured group work, so that they can progress into full time education confident, eager and happy for over 30 years
All of our staff and volunteers are committed to the safeguarding of children. Binfield Pre-school places great importance on the appropriate training and experience of its staff
Our adults to children ratios are in line with OFSTED
guidelines which ensure that staff can provide close attention to every child. Your child will be allocated a ‘Key Person’ who will work closely with them, building a special relationship, giving guidance and support which suits their own individual needs, monitoring and documenting their progress and achievements. Each ‘Key Person’ is responsible for a small group of children
We are a registered charity, which is managed by a Committee who work closely with staff to shape and develop the Pre-School. Charity number 1020270

(EY 292744) and a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance.

Our History
Since Binfield Pre-School was established in 1982, hundreds of children have enjoyed attending the sessions, and the pre-school hopes to continue serving the community in the same way for many years to come.
Our Aims
- To provide high quality child care and education in a safe, stimulating and enjoyable environment for any child under statutory school age
- To help the children in our care develop communication, socialisation and problem solving skills and learn how to use their imagination and deal with their emotions
- To meet the needs of all children in our care including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in accordance with their state of development. This may involve working with other agencies where required to gain extra support for your child
- To recognise and understand that every child is different, promote equality and value diversity
- To follow The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum defined by the government, which is designed to enhance the development and education of pre-school age children
- To work in partnership with parents/carers to help children to learn and develop
- To involve all parents/carers in the running of the pre-school: e.g. by joining our committee, helping at sessions, volunteering their skills
Our Sessions:
Each standard session is 2.5 hours in duration and our sessions currently operate as follows:
- Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday morning 09.30-12.00
- Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday afternoon 12.00-2.30pm (with packed lunch)
- Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday as a full day 09.30-2.30pm (with packed lunch) which counts as 2 sessions
- Thursdays extended hours available until 4.30pm
- Fridays extended hours available until 5pm
Our Learning:
- We follow the Early years (under 5s) foundation stage framework (EYFS)The Learning Environment
- This framework sets the standards that we must meet to ensure children learn and develop well in a healthy and safe environment whilst building the knowledge and skills they will need when starting primary school
- EYFS covers the following areas: Personal, Social & Emotional Development; Communication & Language, Literacy, Understanding of the World; Mathematics, Physical Development and Expressive Arts and Design
Our Environment:
- Based at the Pavilion within Jock’s Lane Recreation Ground we are easily accessible by foot and a short drive from Binfield village. We have plenty of off road, safe parking available.
- This hall provides a large space allowing many different activities to be set-out at the same time, whilst also giving plenty of space for the children to move freely
- We have a safe outside enclosed spaces for the children to enjoy fresh air and with the added benefit of being close to a large outside field area, play park, tennis courts and nature trail
- We offer a huge range of activities, toys and games to the children both indoors and outdoors including arts and crafts, ‘small world’ toys, dressing up, book corner, messy play, painting, sensory area
