Half-term Sponsored Nature Hunt Friday 4th June.

Election Closure Thursday May 6th 2010
Don’t forget that there are no sessions all day Thursday 6th May due to the Hall being needed as a polling station.

School Photographs May 14th 2010
The Pre-school Photographer will be with us from 10.15am on Friday 14th May.  She has a great relationship with the children, so takes fantastic photographs of them and you are welcome to bring siblings along.  If you would like this done please come along at any time even if your child is not in session on Friday.

Pyjama Themed Days
This half term's themed days are 'come to pre-school in your pyjamas days'! We ask for £1 donation from each child to go towards the extra activites and fun snacks that we have in these sessions.

Dance and Drama
Last Friday morning some of the children had a great dance and drama session thanks to the School of the Arts Bracknell.  Leaflets for their session will be in their folders.

Half-Term Sponsored Nature Hunt June 4th 2010
After the huge fun and great success of last year’s Sponsored Nature Hunt we would like to invite you to join us at the Jock’s Lane Pavilion at 11am on 4th June to go scouting for treasures in the woods.  If the weather is suitable bring a picnic!

Contact Details
It is extremely important that you ensure all contact details are up to date! Especially if you change your phone numbers or other emergency contact numbers. We must be able to contact you in case of an emergency.

Reminder: Door Staff
Please can parents not talk to staff member on door duty.  If you need to discuss any issue please find the supervisor or session leader in school, as the member of staff on the door is responsible for the children’s safety.

Jocks Lane Mobile Phone Number
Due to the great outdoor space at Jocks Lane the children are often outside. If you need to contact a member of staff in an emergency please call 07982 436247.

Parent/Carer Rota
We would love to encourage you all to attend at least one full session with your child each term.  This is a great time to chat with your child’s keyworker and you will really get an insight into the fun we have during the sessions.  Please look out for the rota which will be on the noticeboards and fill in your name for the day you would like to come in.

Jewellery
Wearing of jewellery is not permitted except stud earrings. This is due to health & safety issues especially when children are playing on the larger pieces of equipment.

Weather report
Summer is nearly here!  Or is it?  If it looks like a sunny one, please bring a sun hat and apply sun cream to your child before the session as staff cannot apply or re-apply.  If not, please put the wellies in too! Please also remember NO open-toed sandals.

Keyworkers
This member of staff will be monitoring your child’s progress through the Pre-school.  We have a board displayed at each site showing photographs of all our staff members.  Please familiarise yourself with your child’s keyworker.  If you would like to discuss your child’s progress at Pre-school, please ask to speak to their keyworker at any time.

Pre-school Fees – if possible, please pay within 2 weeks of receiving your invoice
We would like to remind you that invoice payments would be appreciated promptly; it is the Committee, made up of parent/carer volunteers that have to chase you, as it is us that sort out the monies for the Pre-school.  If you have any queries, please direct them to our Treasurer whose contact details are on your invoice, and we will try to assist in any way we can.  If you would like to pay us directly from your bank account online, please note the details are on each invoice and your invoice number should be used as a reference so we know your invoice has been paid.  We are now accepting more of the childcare vouchers, so if you would like to pay this way, please let us know.

Interest Items
Please can all small toys coming into the Pre-School for ‘Show-and-Tell’ be labelled, as this helps avoid any confusion.  Please also do not send in anything valuable, breakable or irreplaceable as we cannot be responsible for their safe return.

Children’s Clothing
Please bear in mind when dressing your child for Pre-School that they are in comfortable and easily removable clothing, as this helps the staff at toilet and nappy changing times.  Please also ensure that the children have a change of clothes in their school bag (including socks), and if required, nappies, wipes and nappy sacks.  We really do recommend that you label all shoes, bags and any jumpers or tops that get taken off, as several children have the same styles and they sometimes end up with the wrong things.

Many thanks for your ongoing support.

Easter Concert

Thank you to everyone – parents, carers, staff and especially the children for a fantastic Easter concert this year.  We had a great turn out, the hats and bonnets were all beautiful and everyone, including the parents, had great singing voices!

Recycool

Toners, Cartridges and Phone Recycling

Please don’t bin your empty toners and cartridges or old mobile phones – we can use them to raise money for the Pre-school!  Please bring them in to Pre-school or give to Claire (450663). Thank you!

Tesco and Sainsburys Vouchers
We are still collecting both sets of the vouchers so that we can get some great bits of new equipment for the Pre-school, so please don’t forget to bring them in – there are boxes at both sites.

Book Bargains!
Don’t miss your chance to grab some excellent books at excellent prices with the Book People display that we have at the Memorial Hall (and help us earn a bit of commission too!).  They aren’t there all the time, so keep an eye out for them and grab some real bargains!  They are displayed on a table beside the interest table in the Hall.

What’s happening this term in session!!!

The children are currently learning all about families and relationships. The next few weeks will be about growing things, so if you are in the garden or at the farm, please chat about this.  We will also be doing some planting, so the children may get muddy – please dress appropriately!  The parents’ notice board at each site will have further information about the activities we will be doing for each theme.

Regards,

Sharon & Judy, Session Leaders
